Resident Artist: Lindsey Redifer

March 1, 2015 By Kelli Montgomery

Lindsey Redifer is a young artist who recently relocated from Indianapolis, Indiana to Austin, Texas. After studying the more conventional subject of Horticultural Science at Purdue University, Lindsey decided to pursue her passion by moving south and focusing on her art.

Lindsey discovered her artistic interest in high school and she went on to take studio art classes at both Purdue University and the School of the

Art Institute of Chicago. Many of her oil paintings can be characterized by the various combinations of

color in them. Color is one of Lindsey’s favorite techniques to experiment with, as she believes it creates an element of interest. Aside from painting and getting involved in the art world through volunteering at local galleries, Lindsey enjoys being outside and hiking the trails around Austin. This allows her to use her love of nature as inspiration for her paintings.
