Members Show Guidelines

“The AVAA Members Show” at Austin Art Space

Exhibit Dates: Sept 14-Oct. 6, 2018

Reception: Sat., Sept. 15, 5-7 p.m.

Exhibit Guidelines:

Eligibility: Exhibition is open to AVAA members only.

If accepted, work must be wire-strung and ready to hang (for 2D works). 3D works may require a pedestal if the work does not fit the pedestals we have available.

Entry Fees: There is a non-refundable entry fee, for up to 3 pieces – $20 for current AVAA members. Payment via PayPal on the AVAA website under Join Us at http://www.avaaonline.org/join-us. Please see drop down menu under AVAA Memberships & Programs and click on “Show Fee (Member). Or, checks payable to AVAA and mailed by the deadline to Kelli Montgomery, c/o AVAA, 1700 Alcove Ct., Austin TX 78757. Memberships may be renewed by entry deadline. You may join or renew with this application through the Join Us link above.

Entry Format: Only digital submissions will be accepted. All images must be in jpeg format (image size under 2MB, please). Entrants may submit images via e-mail to kelli@avaaonline.org. Name all electronic files as follows: lastname__titleofwork.jpeg. Abbreviate as needed on electronic file name, but be sure the entry information has the complete information.

Judging: Artwork will be chosen from submitted entries. No substitutions will be accepted. Notifications will be emailed on or by the notification date.

Sales: No commissions are taken on the artwork. Art must remain on display for the duration of the show. Payments to the artists will be made within 15 days after the close of show. Artists are responsible for their own sales tax. Work sold during the exhibition through credit card payment is subject to 4% processing fee (so please factor that into your price). The gallery is open Fridays and Saturdays during the exhibit, 11-5.

Delivery: Hand-delivered work will be received at Austin Art Space on Saturday, Sept 8, noon-4 p.m. If you will be shipping work, please email kelli@avaaonline.org for shipping information and delivery dates. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs. Pre-paid return shipping label must be included with accepted entry if return shipping is required.

Return of Artwork: Artists or artist representatives are responsible for picking up their work on Saturday, Oct. 6, noon-4 p.m. Artwork must be picked up. We have a show immediately following this one.

Acceptance of artwork in this exhibition grants permission to use selected entries for publicity purposes. Neither AVAA, nor its resident artists, will be liable for loss or damage of any work submitted for this exhibition. By submitting artwork to this exhibition the artist agrees to the conditions set forth in this entry form.
